What I Eat in a Day: Summer Edition

Hey cupcakes! I see videos like this on YouTube all the time, and I thought it would be fun to share with you all what I eat in a day (in this case, what I ate yesterday). :) Now that it is summer, I get to cook for myself (which I loveeee!). I try to be as healthy as possible and when I move into my apartment for my internship in a few days, I hope to avoid as much packaging as possible (as part of living a lower-waste lifestyle). Let's get right into it!

Breakfast
Breakfast for me usually includes some sort of healthy cereal like Cheerios (as the sugary stuff is too sugary for the morning!). However, I opted for a banana with some peanut butter yesterday because they were the perfect ripeness for me! :) To top it off I ate two delicious Timbits from Tim Hortons. 

Lunch
My lunch is normally a sandwich or wrap, but my pantry was out of both tortilla wraps and bread... So I made myself some scrambled eggs for lunch! To add some "health" to my eggs, I like to cut up leftover vegetables from my fridge (in this case, carrots). Some hummus, chips, and a Cutie made this the perfect lunch.

Snack
My stomach is pretty small, so I tend to eat a bunch of small things multiple times a day instead of having 3 traditional meals. For snack, I ate this adorable cookie from a local bakery! :D

Dinner 1
Yum yum yummm! For my first dinner (lol - see, my tummy is too small), I ate some chicken parmesan, spaghetti squash, and a dinner roll. Don't worry that it looks like no food - I ate a whole other piece of chicken (sustainable tip: serve yourself small portions and eat everything before getting seconds. This reduces food waste!).

I enjoy eating cereal while I watch TV an hour or so before I go to bed, so yesterday I ate a big bowl of Cherrios :) Yum!

  1. It's good that you eat throughout the day (a lot of research indicates that this is actually better for us) and that you have a nice mixture of healthy foods. Those timbits look delicious though, and I am totally wanting to go to Timmies for some!

  2. Oh I love having cereal at any time of the day honestly, even though I haven't eaten it in ages. I love peanut butter and banana as well :)
