And let's just say I was very disappointed. I grew up with DCOMs like High School Musical and Camp Rock, and even though a lot of places online said that this would be another hit like those, it was most definitely NOT.
First of all, the plot was terrible and was mildly reflective of some horrible treatment of Jews and African Americans in our world's history (like how did this not cause outrage?!). Basically some sort of factory exploded that turned people into zombies... but no worries they could wear these things called "Z-bands" to monitor the chemicals in their bodies. Even though they act like humans, they have green hair which means that they must:
-Wear government issued coveralls (hmmm Star of David anyone?)
-Live in the ghetto separated from the city BY A WALL
-Go to school and enter through a door literally labeled Zombies
-Take class in the basement and cannot join any groups with "normal people" in them (ummm segregation how about?)
-Deal with people hating on them all the time
The whole story is about how the zombies are mistreated, but a human cheerleader named Addison falls in love with Zed, a zombie. Together they fight for integration through cheerleading because DUH cheerleading can fix any problem. The whole thing was just bizarre.
None of the songs were that spectacular either... And the acting was just like the acting on the new Disney Channel shows: sad and disappointing (plus, the guy who played Zed was like a million feet tall which was honestly just impressive). Lol - I wasn't a fan of this movie at all, but I would love to hear your thoughts if you watched it too!
