Tips & Tricks for Surviving a School Dance :)

Hey cupcakes! Prom season is just around the corner! :) I personally LOVED formals and semi-formals when I was in high school, so I wanted to write a post on all of the "wisdom" I learned from the ups and downs of school dances... Enjoy! <3

1. REMAIN CALM - There are going to be bumps along the way from hair to makeup mistakes, so remain calm and don't yell/get angry at those around you. It will all be okay I promise! :)

2. Go shopping for your dress in advance - I personally recommend searching clearance first. I feel like formal dresses don't really go out of style, and I personally loved having unique dresses versus showing up wearing the same dress as another girl!

3. IF you have the same dress as someone, it is NO BIG DEAL - I know a ton of girls who thought it would be the end of the world but honestly, it is just a one night kind of dress! Plus, everyone's style is different so the hair, makeup, shoes, etc. aren't going to match are they?

4. Make sure you have plans for after - Don't be peer pressured to do anything you don't want to do!!!! Having a set location with all of your friends will ensure a fun (and safe!) night <3

5. If you don't have a date, go with friends! - Dates aren't everything girls! Have a super amazing time with your friends!

6. Be prepared if someone tries to grind on you - If you want to do that then go for it! But if not, make sure you are prepared to get yourself out of that situation.

7. Practice your hair and makeup before the night/day of! - A practice run is always helpful!!!!!!!

8. Get some creative photo ideas on Pinterest - Don't do the typical boring photos! Have fun with them and do some unqiue things!

9. If you go with someone, don't leave them on the dance floor! - If you plan on just ditching your guy/girl as soon as you get to the dance, maybe you just shouldn't go with them in the first place. Respect your date!

10. Remember to have FUN - This is a school dance! Make it a blast!!!!! :)

My 10 Favorite Broadway Songs!

Hey cupcakes! Recently, I have been obsessed with listening to Broadway music on Pandora, Spotify, and YouTube.... There are so many AMAZING songs! I decided to do a quick random post with my top ten Broadway songs that you totally need to listen to even if you aren't a fan of musicals :) Let's get started!

1. "For Good" from Wicked - While Defying Gravity gets the most attention from this Broadway show, "For Good" has always been my favorite. :) I love the message in the song, and it never gets old!

2. "Mama Who Bore Me" from Spring Awakening - Even though I don't really enjoy this musical, some of the songs are gorgeous (including this one!). When Lea Michele was in this Broadway show, she did an amazing job with this song <3

3. "Popular" from Wicked - This song is really really really catchy and upbeat, so if you want an uplifting song, you should totally listen to this one! :P

4. "We Both Reached for the Gun" from Chicago - "All That Jazz" from Chicago is also amazing, but this song always makes me laugh... Go listen ;)

5. "At the End of the Day" from Les Miserables - This song is so aggressive and powerful that I just love listening to it! There are a lot of other great songs from this Broadway show that you should listen to as well :P

6. "Whispering" from Spring Awakening - This song is slow and amazing! Again Lea Michele did an amazing job with this song!

7. "Prologue" from Into the Woods - I love the storyline of Into the Woods, and this song is super catchy. :)

8. "Grease" from Grease - Best beginning song ever!

9. "Nicest Kids in Town" from Hairspray - Hairspray is right up there with Grease as being must see musicals, and this is my favorite song from the show!

10. "Singin' in the Rain" from Singin' in the Rain - This is a classic that I still love to this day! :)

Spring 2016 Jewelry Trends

Hey cupcakes! I haven't done a post about jewelry lately, so I thought I would talk about some of the newest trends for the Spring 2016 season! :) I normally wear the same jewelry day in and day out (probably due to the fact that most of my jewelry is still at home while I'm at college), but recently I have been getting back into wearing some different pieces. Here are my favorite trends for the upcoming season:

1. Chokers & Statement Necklaces - I have been seeing choker necklaces everywhere lately, but I prefer the statement necklaces versus the tight chokers.

2. Layering necklaces - I have been seeing so many sets of necklaces that are worn together, and I think this is such a cute trend! Gold is also in for the spring time, so gold layering is so trendy!
Link - Forever 21 has the BEST selection of gold layered necklaces :)
3. Metals - Metallic jewelry is really in this season from bracelets, earrings, to even body jewelry!

4. Ear cuffs - I have been seeing ear cuffs all over the place recently, and I really want to try out this trend!

5. Statement earrings - Huge earrings are totally in this season! Bring out your favorite hoops or buy some nice large earrings :)

10 Essentials to Pack for a Road Trip!

Hey cupcakes! Around this time, many people are on Spring Break or are beginning to plan their summer vacations. If you are going on, or plan to go on, a road trip in the near future, this post is for you! I LOVE to travel, so here are my picks for the must have essentials on any road trip! :D Buckle up for your next adventure and get ready to have a blast! <3

On a road trip, you must bring:

1. Audio books/actual books - I totally recommend looking out the window to see everything you can possibly see, but if your road trip is quite long some type of entertainment on the road is a good thing! Check out your local library for some classics you have never read before!

2. WATER - Don't dehydrate yourself (but then again, don't drink too much or you'll be stopping to use the restroom every hour)! Water is super important when you are traveling!

3. Car snacks - This is another must! I recommend getting healthier snack foods versus candy or sugary sweets so that you will be wide awake when driving/traveling. Check out your local grocery store for packaged trail mixes, granola bars, etc. (or check out a website such as Nuts.com).
4. Blankets & Pillows  - Blankets and pillow are quite essential for comfort. Trust me!

5. Phone charger - I suggest having all phones off during a road trip so that it really is a wonderful getaway from social media and the like. However, you will still need a phone charger if you use Google Maps or the music off of your phone! :)

6. Your luggage - This is kind of obvious... Bring clothes, bathing suits, etc. for when you get to your destination!

7. Makeup remover wipes/wet wipes - Traveling makes your skin greasy so make sure you prevent any pesky zits from popping up!

8. A journal - Travel journals are amazing, and I honestly love writing/drawing in them as I go! Trust me, you should totally get one!

9. Some type of camera - Whether it is a Polaroid or your phone, road trips are great opportunities to take lots of adorable photos!
10. Sunglasses - Driving with the sun in your eyes is terrible so make sure to bring some sunnies! :)

What will you be bringing on your road trip? Comment below and don't forget to follow!

What To Wear on St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day Fashion

Hey cupcakes! St. Patrick's Day is only a couple of days away! :) To celebrate this festive holiday, many people love to wear green (and I admit, I am one of them!)... Here are some green looks to match any occasion!

All green - This outfit is for someone who really wants to get into the holiday. The only rule of thumb: wear as much green as possible! ;)

Casual green - If you are like me, you normally just find one green fashion item to wear to celebrate the holiday. This outfit is super cute with a green sweater, combat boots, and some killer spike necklaces!

Dressy green - If you are going to a more formal St. Patrick's Day party, I suggest wearing green and black. This color combo is perfect for the holiday and is also super sexy as well!

Movie Review: Zootopia

Release date: March 4th, 2016

Rating: PG

Hey cupcakes! While on spring break, my family wanted to go to the movies on one of our lazy days... We looked up some ratings on Rotten Tomato, and Zootopia got the highest scores (a 98% from critics and 94% from audience members)! Since my favorite movie of all time, Tangled, got a 90% audience score, I was super curious to see what made this movie stand out. If you haven't already, watch the trailer:

It was honestly AMAZING! The plot was actually super great for a kid's film (it totally kept me on my toes!!!!), and the characters were quite developed. There was no cheesy love story at all which honestly gave it a refreshing twist. I was also really impressed by how clever this movie was! There was a lot of adult humor in this film that children would not get, but it made it even better for any adult in the movie theater.... People were laughing their heads off (and I of course was too!)! I really think this is a must see movie! It is honestly one of the best Disney movies I have seen in a long time :D

Make a cute pineapple shirt!

-Stencils/paper to cut into stencils
-Cardboard
-Shirts! (check out the clearance section at places like Rue21 and Forever 21 or buy cheap shirts at Walmart!)

What to Do
1. Figure out what you are going to paint on your shirt. I recommend searching Pinterest for some super cute ideas!

2. Lay out your shirt on the cardboard (and if your paint will seep through, put cardboard inside the shirt as well!).
3. Place the stencil (or tape or paper stencil) on the shirt.

4. Paint!

5. Let dry according to the paint you have.

6. Ta-da! Now you have the cutest new shirt ever!!!!

My Experience: Dehydrated French Fries??!!

Hey cupcakes! Today I will be doing another "My Experience" post! This post is about one of my favorite things; food! ;) If you haven't guessed already, I really enjoy trying new foods. Let's get started!!!

Now, I was chilling at work the other day when one of my coworkers started talking about these really special dehydrated french fries that are super well known overseas. The first thing I thought was:
EW
Dehydrated french fries? Sounds really odd. But, when my coworker offered me a pack of them, I knew I had to try them out! The pack looks like this:

Just look at the cute french fries! ;)

In all honesty, the dehydrated french fries looked like regular french fries you would get at a fast food place... But they were a paler shade of yellow. Like they needed to hit the fryer or something!

Honestly, they were pretty good! They were crunchy like potato chips and had lots and lots of salt. The after taste of them was quite interesting. It was almost like a mix of sweetness and artificial fish flavoring which was very very odd.... But, I can see why these dehydrated frech fries are such a big deal overseas! If you ever get the opportunity, I would totally recommend trying them! :P

What interesting foods have you tried? Comment below and don't forget to follow!!!!! :D <3
