My Favorite Movies of All Time

Hey cupcakes! A few months ago I did a post about my favorite books of all time (read it here: link)... I decided to continue that post and talk about my favorite movies! Enjoy!

1. Tangled
Tangled is the BEST Disney movie of all time! While it didn't get the viral fame that Frozen got, it really should have! A lot of people have never really seen it because it isn't widely known, but I totally recommend this movie if you haven't been blessed enough to watch it.... The songs, the characters, the un-Disneylike plot twist. OMG I have seen it probably more than 20 times, and I love it more and more each time I watch it :)

2. The Princess Bride
Even though this movie is pretty old, it is a classic! My dad made me watch it when I was pretty little, and I totally fell in love <3 The movie is hilarious, it does a great job of following the book, and there are allusions to this movie in more places than you'd think. Plus, it is super fun to quote with my friends :P

3. Hitch
This match making movie is super funny! Starring Will Smith and Kevin James (two of my fav actors!), it is a rom com that is sure to make you laugh. I forced my boyfriend to watch this movie a few months ago, and he even liked it (and he never likes my movie choices!). :P If you are feeling down or need to laugh with your girlfriends, I suggest this movie! <3 :)

4. Paul Blart: Mall Cop
I did a movie review on the sequel to this movie a few months back, but the original is still my fav! I used to watch this movie almost every weekend with my friends in middle school, and the dumb humor in it makes me laugh for hours :D Kevin James is, again, wonderful and hilarious, and the whole plot of the movie just makes me happy. It is a great film!

5. The Princess Diaries
Starring Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews what could be better than this?!? This movie is my fav teenage girl/chick flick film, and everything about it makes me smile. :) Mia is super relatable, and I think every girl's dream is to be a princess... The humor in this movie is great, the characters are amazing, and overall, this film is practically perfect in every way! ;) <3

5 Must-Have Beauty Products for the Winter Season

Hey cupcakes! Winter is here! We just had the first snowfall a few days ago, and it is cold, cold, COLD! This new winter season comes with a transition for not only clothes but for your beauty products too! Here is a list of my must-have beauty products that are super essential during the winter months.... Enjoy!

1. A nice lip balm - Your lips will be getting quite chap during the winter (especially if you are in college like me and will be walking around a lot!), so it is important to have a good lip balm to keep your lips smooth and moisturized. Nothing is appealing like bloody, cracked lips! :P
2. Hand lotion - Again, your skin will be very dry! I would recommend having hand lotion with you all the time!
3. Body butter - I find that body butter does a better job of keeping the skin moisturized during the winter months than the typical Bath and Body Works lotion. Plus, it leaves your skin so soft after the shower!
4. Light foundation - Heavy foundation in the winter is going to leave your skin feeling really gross, so I'd recommend a lighter foundation or BB cream. This will dry out your skin less and make it still look healthy during the winter months!
5. Waterproof mascara - This is optional, but if you are going to be walking around in the snow a lot (again, like college students! :P) I would go for a waterproof mascara so the snow doesn't ruin your eye makeup during the day...
I hope you enjoyed this list! What products are essential to your makeup routine in the winter? Comment below and don't forget to follow! :) <3

7 Tips & Tricks for Black Friday Shopping

Hey cupcakes! The craziest shopping day of the year is almost upon us :D Who's excited?!?! To prepare for this exciting event, I decided to compile a list of my top tricks and tips for successful Black Friday shopping.... Enjoy!
1. Know what you want to buy ahead of time - Don't get sucked into buying a cheap TV or blender if you really don't need one!

2. Set a budget - And stick to it! Black Friday is a day that so many people overspend!

3. Get some Christmas shopping done - Black Friday is honestly the best time to score some really great holiday deals!

4. Know what stores have what deals - This is super helpful when you are deciding which places to shop! :D
5. Be prepared to wait in line for forever - Like seriously, some get really bad!

6. Don't let the shopping ruin your Thanksgiving! - Some stores open on Thanksgiving and that seems so silly! Be thankful for the things you have in your life before going to buy new stuff ;)

7. Wait for Cyber Monday? - If you ain't about the crazy shopping life (like me!), I totally recommend waiting until Cyber Monday.... :P

Recipe: Doritos Chicken

Hey cupcakes! Today I will be sharing with you all a new recipe I found: Doritos Chicken! I found this recipe on Pinterest, so here is the original link... This recipe is super duper easy, quick, and actually tastes surprisingly good (I was totally skeptical when I first saw the recipe)!
Marinate sliced boneless chicken breasts in buttermilk for 2 hours. Dredge in flour. Dip in egg wash. Dredge in crushed Doritos. Bake in a 400F for 15-20 minutes. (Mine cooked perfectly in 25 minutes!!):
Steps:

1. Marinate sliced boneless chicken breasts in buttermilk for 2 hours.

2. Dredge in flour.

3. Dip in egg wash.

4. Dredge in crushed Doritos.

5. Bake in a 400F for 15-20 minutes.

I personally marinated the chicken in regular milk for only about an hour, but I would totally recommend actually using buttermilk! The result is a really cheesy flavored chicken, and it was super delicious with white rice!! :D

My Experience: Henna Tattoos!

Hey cupcakes! Today I will be doing a post all about henna tattoos! Recently, my dorm threw a celebration for the fesitval of Diwali and there was henna paste for tattoos! I have never done henna before, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try it out :)
For those of you who might not know how henna works, it is basically a temporary tattoo that is created through a henna paste. First, I picked out my design and showed it to the girl who was doing the tattoo.
The design I used!
She used this little tube thing of dark brown henna paste and drew the design on the back of my hand.
The paste makes your hand really cold! :P Haha - after the design is finished, you have to leave the paste on for a LONG TIME! The girl doing it said she recommends sleeping with the paste on, but I only could leave it for three hours since it wasn't close to bed time :P While the paste is drying on your hand it will feel a little strange, but I did some homework and watched a movie with some friends.... That totally passed the time! After the desired length of time, all you have to do is scrape off the paste, and you will be left with your henna tattoo! :D
Before and after of a henna tattoo (see how it changes colors!)
Mine turned out a really nice shade of deep orange, but the longer you leave the paste on the darker the tattoo will turn out (and the longer it will last!). To make it last even longer, I would cover the tattoo with a layer of Vaseline before you shower! :)
Overall, I think henna looks amazing! I would totally recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it before! Just look at the gorgeous things you can do with it:
AMAZING

Hey cupcakes! Today I wanted to do a post dedicated to one of America's favorite shoes: Converse! :D These shoes are everywhere and have been in style for so so soooo long! Purchasing a nice classic pair of Converse is something you will not regret! I made a lookbook of four different ways to style the classic black Converse.... Enjoy! :) <3

How To Style Blazers

Hey cupcakes! Today I wanted to do a post dedicated to a fashion staple that is essential for every working woman: the blazer! I picked out three different blazers (of three different colors!) and styled them to give you guys some inspiration for the blazers you have in your closets! Enjoy! :)
Black blazer: For the classic black blazer, I paired it with another business staple: the pencil skirt! To add a bit of excitement to the boring work outfit, I found an adorable red shirt and heels for the perfect pop of color (remember, most of the shirt will be covered by the blazer)!

Navy/dark blue blazer: If you aren't into skirts, a pair of gray dress pants are perfect to compliment a blazer! Add some cute shoes and a neutral top to make your look professional yet chic :D

Hot pink blazer (or any bright color!): For this look, I went all out... Go for a patterned skirt, a neutral top, and rockin' shoes for a show stopping outfit!

Taste Testing Random Foods Part 5

Hey cupcakes! Everyone seems to really enjoy my random taste test posts, so I thought I would do another one for you all today! :) If you haven't check out my previous taste testings, you can see them all here: 1,2,3,4! Enjoy! :D

1. Jetty Punch Smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Cafe
I was thirsty one morning after my first class, so I decided to take a trip to Tropical Smoothie Cafe since I had never been there before. I wanted to go for something pretty basic, so I ordered the Jetty Punch smoothie (which is just a strawberry banana smoothie). The thing was pretty gigantic (it lasted me all day because I drink things really slow!) but then again it was around $5-6. The flavor was kind of bland, and I didn't really enjoy it that much. The McDonald's strawberry banana smoothies taste wayyyyy better (even though they are probably much worse for you) and is much cheaper, so I will not be repurchasing the Jetty Punch one.

2. Jelly Belly Sport Beans (Quick Energy for Sports Performance)
So I saw these for free at my workplace and had to try them for this post! I am not really a fan of jelly beans in the first place, and the whole "quick energy" thing just seems very odd. The actual bean is a bit bigger than a normal sized Jelly Belly, but the flavors were pretty similar. They tasted just like fruit flavors and they didn't have an aftertaste or anything. However, I didn't feel energized or anything after eating them, so I don't know how much they actually work :P But, I don't think many athletes would eat candy before working out but go for it if you want...... Probably won't eat these again.

3. Zombie Food from Skybar
Alright, so I got one of these around Halloween.... The one I ate was a chocolate shaped brain with red caramel on the inside. The chocolate wasn't the greatest (it had that waxy texture to it) and the caramel was just like any other cheap caramel you would find in candy. I personally found the whole thing kind of gross because the caramel was red, but I'm sure kids would love these if they recieved them trick-or-treating (mental note for next year :P).

I hope you enjoyed this post! :D Stay tuned for more taste test posts each month! <3

Book Review: The Da Vinci Code

Title: The Da Vinci Code

Author: Dan Brown
Hey cupcakes! Today I have a book review for you guys! I have heard some really great things about this book, so a few days I had nothing going on and decided to check it out! IT WAS AMAZING! I sat in my bed for like 4 or 5 hours and never put the book down until I finished it! It is my new favorite book :D

The Da Vinci Code is a mystery thriller that takes the reader on a journey through secret codes and history focusing around a murder in the beginning of the book. I would do a quick plot summary, but it would totally ruin the book... Therefore, you gotta read it! When I thought I knew what would happen, there was a huge plot twist that kept me guessing at every page turn! My mouth literally fell open a few times while I was reading :P

The characters are likeable, the secret codes and historical backgrounds are super interesting, and the ending blew my mind..... Please read this book, so we can talk about it! <3

Have you read The Da Vinci Code? Comment below your thoughts and don't forget to follow! :)

Pros and Cons of Living in an All-Girls Dorm!

Hey cupcakes! I have been living in an all-girls dorm for a few months now, and I absolutely love it! I know many people might be skeptical about an all-girl living situation, so I thought I would do a post on the pros and cons of living in an all-girls dorm! :) Enjoy!!

Pro: You are surrounded by girls your age! They can give amazing advice, help you with homework, borrow clothes, help you with a guy situation, help do your hair, and pretty much anything you could ever need help with! There will be LOTS of laughs I guarantee :)
Con: Hormones = witchy girls at times

Pro: The events held at the dorm (at least for mine!) allow you to make really close friends, so you can have your own "family" on campus!

Con: Hair in the showers = YUCK
Pro: You don't have to worry about running into a guy when you just get out of the shower or have your pajamas on :P

Con: There will always be some gossip.... :/

Pro: The other girls are just as stressed as you, so a nice cry/talking session is totally normal! And super duper helpful!

Con: There won't be any guys to talk to... If you are looking for guys that is (I personally am not!).

Pro: NO BOYS :P So it will normally be much cleaner ;)

Pro: There will always be someone to do things with!

Pro: There will be plenty of funny/cute/hilarious stories to hear about boys, classes, etc.

As you can see, my pros beat out all of the cons, and I personally LOVE living in an all-girls dorm! I totally recommend it if you are feeling like your school is too big... It makes it seem so much smaller and is so fun! :) <3

If you are contemplating living in an all-girls dorm and still have questions, feel free to ask your questions in the comments! I would LOVE to help! :D <3

Review: As Seen on TV Aqua Stone

Hey cupcakes! Today I will be doing a review on the Aqua Stone!!!!!
My dorm room has been extremely dry recently, so I wanted to look into buying a humidifier... However, I wanted to place it on my dresser which does not have a plug nearby. So, I looked on Amazon and came across the Aqua Stone! This is a natural humidifier that does not require batteries or electricity... Being only $8 I HAD to try it out! :)

This product contains two part: a black bowl and a white clay sphere that is hollow on the inside. The objective is pretty basic as well! All you have to do is fill up the black bowl with water, place the clay sphere in the center of the bowl, and the clay will naturally release water into the air. I set it up as soon as I received the package, and it honestly does work!!!!
I used to wake up every morning with a dry throat and now that doesn't happen anymore! The water level in the black bowl decreases throughout the day, so the water is actually being released into my room! :O A lot of the Amazon reviews said that mold was an issue, but I have been changing the water every morning before I go to class and there is no sign of any mold yet! This product can also be used to release essential oils into the air, so I think that maybe the oils or sitting water would contribute to mold. Just be sure to change the water often!
I feel like this product mostly works well for small rooms (such as my dorm room :P), so you would probably need a few if you wanted to humidify a larger area. However, I really recommend you give this a go! It is super affordable and actually does work!!!!! :)

What other As Seen on TV products do you like?? Comment below and don't forget to follow! <3 :D
