DIY Lush Bath Bombs!

Hey cupcakes! Today I will be teaching you how to DIY your own bath bombs just like the ones at Lush!!!! If you don't know Lush is an amazing store that contains many bath products like soap, bath melts, bath bombs, etc. It can be on the pricier side and some people (like myself) do not have one nearby... So how am I going to have a heavenly bath without Lush's products??!!? I will DIY them myself!!!! ;) Enjoy!
What You Need
-1 cup baking soda
-1/2 cup Epsom salt
-1/2 cup citric acid
-1/2 cup corn starch
-1 T jojoba oil
-Some type of mold (a bath bomb mold, ice cube mold, or another shape!)
This person used a tennis ball!!!!!
-Scented oils (you can copy the scents from Lush or make your own!)
-Food coloring (optional)
-Water in a spray bottle

Steps
1. Mix together baking soda, Epsom salt, citric acid, and corn starch together in a bowl. Add jojoba oil and food coloring (if you want).

2. After that is all mixed, add in scented oils! Play around with this step because it is awesome to create fun scents!

3. Mix well.

4. Start spraying in water SLOWLY so the citric acid can react with it. Keep spraying until the mixture looks like wet sand (you should be able to mold it with your hands)!

5. Pack into molds. Remove from mold after the whole mold is filled and packed in, and place on towel to dry.

6. Enjoy in the bath!!!!!!!! :)

What scents are your favorite bath bombs???? Comment below!!!!!!!! <3

How to Style American Flag Shorts

Hey cupcakes! Has anyone else noticed how trendy American flag shorts have become? Everywhere I look in a store I see some type of American shirt, shorts, etc. I have been dying to DIY my own pair of these shorts and most likely will by Independence Day. Since the fourth of July is almost here, I decided to show you guys three ways to style American flag shorts! Enjoy! :)

1. Neutral shirt - Since the flag print is a bit of a statement, pair the shorts with a cute white, gray, ivory, etc. shirt! Add some wedges and a jacket and you are good to go!

2. Navy bandeau - Go for the crop top look with a cute navy bandeau and a white kimono! The kimono will make sure you don't show too much skin, and you will look uber trendy! <3

3. Go for even more American! - Add a graphic tee that is American themed (or any graphic tee really) and a pair of Converse shoes (because come on Converse shoes scream America!).

Which look do you like the best? Comment below!!!!!!

Movie Review: Pitch Perfect 2

Release date: May 15th, 2015

Rating: PG-13
Hey cupcakes! I just saw Pitch Perfect 2! I really enjoyed the first Pitch Perfect movie, and my friends and I were super pumped when we heard there was a sequel coming out... Honestly, I was pretty disappointed. :/ This movie was no where near as funny as the original film, and I personally felt like there were wayyyy too many racist and sexist jokes. I kinda felt like they crossed a line in some spots. However, I did laugh at some parts (usually those with Fat Amy in them!), and it wasn't the worst movie I have seen. The singing was enjoyable too which is one of the reasons the first one was awesome! Acapella singing is so incredible!!!! I don't really recommend this movie but I guess it was still ok for a sequel......

The New Pandora? Alex and Ani Bracelets!

Hey cupcakes! Today I will be writing a post based on a HUGE new bracelet trend that is taking the world by storm: Alex and Ani! Even though this brand has been around for awhile, they have recently taken off in summer fashion :)
These bracelets are super cute, and they contain positive energy in each jewelry piece. The metal is eco-conscious because they are made of recycled metal... and each bracelet is handmade in the United States! The meaningfulness behind each bracelet creates an awesome accessory that can be wore by itself or with many others! Just like Pandora bracelets with each bead to represent part of your life story, Alex and Ani bracelets create your life story as well! :)
Celebrities such as Ashley Tisdale have been seen with wrists full of Alex and Ani bracelets!
I recently was given the silver Ladybug Alex and Ani bracelet that empowers Luck, Happiness, and Affection. This bracelet is great quality and super easy to pair with any outfit. I love to wear it by itself, but I might get more to stack them! Another great aspect of this bracelet is the little tale that describes what each bracelet represents/impowers you with - such a cute touch!

Do you have an Alex and Ani bracelet? Check out the Alex and Ani website here: LINK

How to Style a Maxi Skirt

How to Style a Maxi Skirt
Hey cupcakes! Today I will be sharing a collage on how to style maxi skirts! Maxi dress and skirts have been in style for quite some time now, and they can be styled in multiple ways. Here are three different outfit inspirations for your own maxi skirts:

1. Patterned maxi - Because of the pattern, pair the skirt with a plain black (or other neutral) top and throw on some cute wedges and a jean vest/jacket! Totally chic!

2. Colored maxi - If your maxi is a solid bright color, go for the bohemian look and wear a cute crop top or halter! Add on some midi rings and some sandals and your look is complete! :)

3. Black maxi - This is my favorite look because you can wear pretty much any top with a black skirt! I chose a cute pineapple graphic tank in this collage, and it is super cute! Wear flip flops or sandals and a cute headband, and you look super cute for summer!

How do you style you maxi skirts? Comment below!!!! :)

My Problem with College Scholarship

Hey cupcakes! Today I will be doing a rant post about college scholarships, so if you do not enjoy ranting you do not need to continue on.

Ok, so I am a senior in high school this year, and I have recently graduated. This year I have applied for many many scholarships to help with my college fees in the fall, and I have noticed how unfair they are. I will split them into two categories: local/state scholarships and national scholarships. Now for local scholarships you will ONLY win if you know people involved with the organization. I am Valedictorian, one of the top students in my grade by ACT score, and am involved in over 15 extracurriculars in my school, town, and church in community service, choirs, Quizbowl, etc. Yet, all of the local scholarships I applied for went to people who had family members or close friends that worked for those organizations and barely participated in anything other than going to school. This included the Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and the Women's Club in my town. I am not trying to be a sore loser, but how is it fair to any applicants other than me that did not win also? These scholarships are based on essays, yet you must still have your name on it. Why isn't it anonymous? I find it truly unfair that organizations make scholarships biased because many people need that money for college. It just isn't right to me! For one particular scholarship, I spent a ton of time writing an awesome essay. A girl I know wrote the essay two hours before it was due, but she won because both parents work in the organization. Fair right?

Now national scholarships are hard to win in general just because they accept people from across the nation. The money that can be won is a lot more than local ones, but you will probably never win the national scholarships. So why are local ones so unfairly run then? If you can't win national scholarships due to the huge odds not in your favor, and then you can't win local scholarships due to the biased nature of them, what is the point of even applying? I tried for 20 scholarships and did not win a single one. I wasted weeks and so many hours working on essays and perfecting them and filling out applications, and I still have no extra money for college. My advice to juniors that will be seniors next year is: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Even though you may be the best and the brightest, someone who doesn't try as hard as you will win. It totally sucks!

Alright, I am done ranting...

Review: Threading Your Eyebrows

Hey cupcakes! Recently I decided to try a new method of hair removal: threading! This method uses your ordinary sewing thread to remove hair. It is faster than using tweezers to pluck out each hair because it can remove more hairs instead of just one. Here is how to do threading:

My thoughts:
So I have done this method about four times now on my eyebrows and lips. I haven't tried it on any other spot on my body, but I'm sure it would work! Honestly, this method is awesome! It is a tad bit more painful than plucking but after you get used to it, it is fine. It can be a bit tricky to get the thread to move where you want, but practice makes perfect! It is definitely faster than plucking!!!! I would totally recommend this method of hair removal! If you need more instruction, check out YouTube!

How to Remove Sap From Your Hair

Hey cupcakes! Today I will be doing a quick post on a learning experience I had this weekend.... So, I was just chilling at an annual festival my town has. It was a gorgeous day, and I was having a blast! I got myself a hotdog and went to find some shade to sit in... I found this nice tree to lean on and enjoyed my food. When I stood up, I felt something sticky in my hair! Turns out there was a huge amount of sap that got on my hair!!!!! I rushed home and tried to remove it with shampoo and soap... and it didn't work!!!! I was freaking out and thought I'd have to cut out the sap, but thankfully I Googled what to do. Here's how I removed the sap from my hair:

1. Wet hair

2. Rub peanut butter on it (yes peanut butter!)

3. Heat with a hair dryer for a couple seconds

4. Wash with water and shampoo

5. Ta-da it's gone!!!!

So in conclusion, the oils from the peanut butter are one of the few things that will remove sticky sap from your hair! You might want to remember (or Pin for later) this in case you find yourself in a sticky situation like I did! :) Have a great day! <3

How to Style Crochet Shorts

How to Style Crochet Shorts

Hey cupcakes! Doing some summer shopping, I have seen crochet shoes everywhere! These can be found at stores like Rue21, Pacsun, Maurices, etc. and I think they are super cute! :) I especially like the white shorts because they add cute patterns instead of just wearing a plain pair of white jean shorts. Here's how I styled both of these looks:

1. To balance off the patterned crochet shorts, I paired them with a solid v neck shirt. These are awesome and comfy, so a nice pair of Keds and statement necklace will pull the whole look together! Looks effortless and super cute :)

2. I tried to balance off the pattern again with a plain tank top. To add dimension just slip on a jean vest or jacket! Add plain sandals and you're done! <3

I hope this gives you some inspiration for styling your crochet shorts! How do you style crochet shorts? Comment below!
