What I Wore to Prom :)

What I Wore to Prom

Hey cupcakes! I just recently had Prom at my school, so this is a collage of what I wore! :) I went shopping for my dress in March, and they are soooooo expensive! I found a gorgeous navy dress at Macy's, but it was $130! I was looking at other stores in the mall to try and find a cheaper gown, and I found this mint green dress at Charlotte Russe for only $50! I was soooo excited because I loved it even more than the navy one, so I bought it! My dress went all the way to the floor like a typical prom dress, not like the photo in the collage, and I also added clear straps because I hate strapless dresses. However, the total cost of the dress was under $60! SCORE!! I felt like Cinderella in my dress :)

What did you wear to Prom? :) Comment below and follow! <3

More Ways To Style Leggings!

How To Style Leggings

Hey cupcakes! A month or so ago I did a post on how to style black leggings (READ IT HERE: link). Since leggings are still a HUGE trend, I decided to make three more outfits for some fashion inspiration.  :) For the first outfit, I paired the leggings with a cute shirt under a long cardigan. I personally hate when you can see the rear ends of girls in leggings, so an oversized cardigan solves this problem as well as being super cute! The next outfit pairs a cute oversized sweatshirt with some Keds. It is casual yet cute, and I also put a bow with this outfit because a high ponytail or bun would look super adorbs with this look! The last outfit pairs a high low top with a long necklace and Converse. The high low top covers the bum, but it still looks awesome in the front!! :)

What do you wear with leggings? Comment below and don't forget to follow! <3

My Two Literary Role Models

Hey cupcakes!!!!!!!! This will be a slightly different post today, and I will be discussing my two literary role models I had while growing up. I love to read, and the women in books inspired me as a child to be the best I could be in my life. There were princesses and heroes and wonderful women who taught me to never give up on myself, believe in myself, and succeed in whatever I attempted to do.

1. Hermione Granger from Harry Potter - This might not be a shock to many people, because Hermione Granger is a role model for a lot of kids today. Not only is she incredibly smart, she proves to the young child what hard work can do for you. She has a good heart, and she does what is right in all the conflicts that arise in the book series. She is also extremely pretty, which taught me that it was better to be smart and pretty than just smart OR pretty. I looked up to Hermione as a child because she was like me; we both had curly brown hair, we both could be know it alls at times, and we both were good kids who love our family and friends. Hermione is the ultimate symbol of girl power. I still believe that J.K. Rowling did an amazing job with Hermione's character, and I hope that other young girls find her as inspiring as I did. :) <3
2. Jenna Heap from Septimus Heap - Septimus Heap is more well-known in the UK than the US, but it was my favorite book series growing up. This series focuses on the seventh son of the seventh son and all of his adventures in a magical world. Princess Jenna is one of few main women characters in the books, and she is super inspiring. Almost all of the other characters are magical, but Jenna must do things without magic because she does not possess magical qualities. Her perseverance and wit during conflicts totally screams girl power, and her love towards the Heaps (even though they aren't here real family) teaches the reader that you should always put family first. The just way she rules her town shows how kind she is, and she puts the needs of others first before thinking about herself. Jenna was a huge inspiration to me as a child because against all odds, she becomes an amazing Queen.

DIY Clothespin Photo Wreath

Hey cupcakes!! :) Today I will be teaching you guys how to make this adorable photo wreath! I was looking through Pinterest the other day and found this DIY, so I had to try it out!

What You Need
-Piece of cardboard
-Clothespins (I used 20 pins, but it depends on how big you make the wreath)
-Scissors
-Hot Glue
-Paint (optional)

Instructions
1. Use some type of circle stencils (I used two different size bowls) and cut out the wreath shape in your cardboard.
2. You can leave it unpainted, or paint the wreath any color you choose!
3. Take your clothespins (painted or unpainted again) and evenly space them around the wreath. Make sure you don't have too many or you won't be able to hang lots of photos!
4. Glue on wreath.
5. Hang on your wall and enjoy!!!! This would be perfect for a dorm room!!!

Here is the pin I found on Pinterest, so credits go to whichever website this is from. :)

Movie Review: Home

Release date: March 27th, 2015

Rating: PG
Hey cupcakes! I went to see Home last night with my family, and it was AWESOME!!! The trailer for this movie has been on TV a lot, and it looked like a super funny movie... And it was! The trailer did not let me down! The beginning of the film was a little slow, but it was necessary to set up the middle and end of the plot. The Boov aliens are super cute, and Jim Parsons' voice for Oh was perfect! Also, Pig (the cat) was so adorable!! I laughed so hard during this movie but was also almost brought to tears at certain points. It was a great family friendly film! I rank this movie higher than a lot of other children's movies I have seen, so GO SEE IT! It was even based off of a children's book by Adam Rex called The True Meaning of Smekday. It was great to see a movie that was original and based on something different for a change, not like how Disney is now redoing its classic cartoons with people. I loved this movie and will probably go again!!!! <3

The Facts of Life

Recently I have been struggling with some insecurities. I have been thinking about my life and felt insecure that I didn't matter to the world. It kept me up a few nights before I finally figured out that everyone feels this way. Everyone has these insecurities at some point, and they make us feel like we are not important. I did some reflecting on these thoughts and fears, and came to the conclusion that I AM important. The facts of life are:
1. Life is short
2. You probably won't matter to the big picture
3. You are everything to the small picture
Life goes by way too fast. I wasted too much time worrying about not being good enough when I could have been making the world around me a better place. Truth to be told, many of us won't matter on the grand scope of things. There won't be many Einsteins or curers of cancer, but that is OK. You do matter to the little worlds in our lives. Our churches, our schools, our families, our friends, our clubs and sports teams. These are the places that you as an individual matter! Your unique skills and body crafted from God were put on this earth for a reason, so hold your head high! Embrace every moment of every day as special, and make your life count. You are YOU, so no one can compare because you are one of a kind. God made you to influence the world in a different way than everyone else, but you are just as essential as anyone else. Do not be insecure, you are PERFECT!
GOD LOVES YOU, and that is all that matters. :) <3
Feel free to comment, and I will reply!!!
