Japanese Fashion: Lolita

The Lolita street style is very popular in Japan, but has gone worldwide. It has three main types:
-Classic Lolita (characterized by mature clothing that is business like)

-Gothic Lolita (characterized by dark colors, spiders, and classic "goth symbols") ------------------------------------------>
-Sweet Lolita (characterized by childlike clothes, fairy tale themes, Hello Kitty, etc.)

  1. Well, you're right on that Classic, Gothic, and Sweet are the most popular styles of Lolita, but it helps to know what defines a Lolita outfit to begin with.

Lolita, first off is a very modest look based around Victorian and Rococo styles. Skirts and dresses should be around knee-length and have enough room for a petticoat underneath. Shoulders and cleavage should be covered, so opt for a blouse with a high neckline and girly sleeves.

Knee socks and tights are popular, but frilly ankle socks are now more acceptable for the hotter months.
