Hello followers of  The Chic Cupcake!

My name is Lizzy. My friend, Sammi, and I run the blog Pretty Modest. Our goal is to show young women you can still be very stylish and stay modest. At them moment I am raising funds for our pastor to get to Africa by wearing one dress for 30 days. It has been hard but I am so glad I have been given the chance to change lives. If you would like to learn more about what they are doing over there check out they'r blog. Here are just a few of my favorite outfits so far. Check em out! :)

Japanese Fashion: Lolita

The Lolita street style is very popular in Japan, but has gone worldwide. It has three main types:
-Classic Lolita (characterized by mature clothing that is business like)

-Gothic Lolita (characterized by dark colors, spiders, and classic "goth symbols") ------------------------------------------>
-Sweet Lolita (characterized by childlike clothes, fairy tale themes, Hello Kitty, etc.)

Make sure to follow The Chic Cupcake to never miss a post!

The Right Sunglasses

When you are shopping for the perfect sunglasses this summer, keep your face shape in mind.
  • If you have a round face, choose upswept frames.
  • If you have a heart face, choose aviators.

  • If you have a oval face, choose rectangular lenses.
  • If you have a square face, choose rounded edges.

Vintage, Retro, or Antique?

Ok, so a lot of times people don't get their fashion terms correct. Shame on them! :P I was watching a video on YouTube that really helped me.....
  • Vintage clothes are clothes from the 1920's to the 1970's.
  • Retro clothes are clothes from the 1960's to the 1970's.
  • Antique clothes are anything before the 1920's.
  • Thrifted clothes are clothes that were used before during any time.
    • From: "How To Thrift - Tips For Thrift Shopping" by anneorshine
Hope this cleared stuff up for you!!!!!! :)
